Born
in Nagaur District in Rajasthan on Dec. 20, 1928, Mr Moti Lal Vora received his education
in Raipur and Kolkata. He went for journalism
and worked with several newspapers for many years. He
rose on the political fermament in 1968. Elected
to Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in 1972. Appointed
Deputy Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Transport Corporation. Elected to MP Vidhan Sabha in 1977 and 1980. Appointed a minister of State in Arjun
Singhs Cabinet and given the charge of Higher Education Department. Elevated to the Cabinet Minister in 1983. Appointed President of the MP Congress Committee.
On March 13, 1985, he was appointed Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Resigned from the post of Chief Minister on
Feb.13, 1988 and assumed the office of Union Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Civil
Aviation on Feb.14, 1988. Elected to the
Rajya Sabha in April 1988. Appointed Governor
of Uttar Pradesh on May 26, 1993 and held the office till May 3, 1996.
